Being Brandee: Old Town Murrieta, CA Senior Portrait Session

Updated: Oct 21, 2019

With the exception of a beautiful wedding, Senior Portraits are one of my absolutely favorite types of sessions. There is just something so special to me about them. It's about so much more than the pictures themselves - it's about reveling in those fleeting moments of childhood, while celebrating the new adventures ahead.

Brandee's parents contacted me at the beginning of the school year to schedule her Senior photos. They explained to me that Brandee had spent her first 2 years of high school in Colorado before moving to Murrieta. It was very important to her to incorporate both high school experiences into her photos. She also specifically requested that the photos be taken Veteran's Day weekend, so that we could take some of them at the Murrieta Field of Honor. Brandee is in JROTC and plans on enlisting in the Marines as soon as she graduates.

Not only is Brandee involved in JROTC, she is has also double-lettered in both Wrestling and Choir.

My afternoon with Brandee and her parents was so much fun. We were able to shoot on her campus, Murrieta Valley High School, and explore Old Town Murrieta. The wonderful staff at Le Grange Cellars opened up their beautiful patio area to us, and allowed Brandee to use their restroom to change into her Dress Uniform. We also had some fun using the exterior of Murrieta Valley Funeral Home - sounds crazy, I know, but it was a beautiful place and they were very welcoming.

Brandee is a remarkable young woman. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for her - she asked me to take her wedding pictures when she decides to get married, and I am going to hold her to that!
